The lawsuit seeks to shut down the sites and obtain damages. Click through for details. The complaint was filed by twelve companies, all members of the Interactive Digital Software Association (IDSA), including Activision, Capcom, Eidos, Electronic Arts, Havas Interactive, LucasArts, Interplay, Microsoft, Midway, Nintendo and 3DO. According to the complaint, the websites operated by the defendants offered downloadable, pirated copies of hundreds of games. If the companies are found to have breached copyright, penalties could be as high as $150,000 per copyrighted work. [more] |
