Cliff Bleszinski's next game is BlueStreak - briefly

Love him or hate him, Cliff Bleszinski has announced his next game, a free-to-play sci-fi shooter called BlueStreak. Bleszinski said that the PC arena shooter is being published through a partnership with the South Korean company Nexon, a company known most for MapleStory. Bleszinski gave the word over Twitter, where he also unsurprisingly confirmed his startup Boss Key. Cliff is most well known for his work on both Unreal Tournament and the Gears of War trilogy before taking a short break from making games. Now he’s back and seems more motivated than ever before. While arena shooters are pretty outdated nowadays with the rise of other genres such as MOBAs, hopefully Cliff can add something new to the table as he did previously in his work within the genre. It seems development is at an extremely early stage right now without even a screenshot to look at, but expect more details for this one to arrive over the coming months.

Cliffy may be a bit of a lightning rod, but I still think UT2004 was one of the best multiplayer shooters ever made.

UnrealTournament was better both in gfx style, MUSIC!!, maps etc... sure I like UT2k4 aswel but it was like a different game, stupid tanky looking player models, stupid Egyptian them crap levels, just a whole lot of fucking stupid art design in it, crap menus.. and the music was shite compared to the original. It was just a better more updated engine with better fx and higher poly models and levels.

I still played lots of deathmatch on deck17 and rankin... the crap vehicles and other maps were all just forgettable really. I remember better mods/maps on the original UT

Ut2k4 was the last decent UnrealTournament before it all went to shit though, and while I don't know what cliffys involement was in UT or UT2k series I know that everything afterwards was a basic FUCK U to the PC.. and that was where Cliffy was more involved in the media with Gears of War.

So the way I look at it, Cliffy fucked UnrealTournament and pretty sure steered things towards console dumbification starting with ut2k series.

Anyway it seems he and Epic have something in common with pre hyping a game they haven't actually even started making yet.. its like he never left :P Last months unreal tournament announcement only to find it was a livestream to talk about how they haven't actually done shit yet but they want the community to come help them make it after going through a pay wall to buy a subscription for the Unreal editor/
