Guys at GameSpy written a hands-on
preview of Carnivores: Cityscape, Wizardworks' upcoming
dinosaur game (I bet you remember predecessors Carnivores and Carnivores: Ice Age), which
will be powered by the Serious Sam engine! The preview is based on playing an alpha copy,
here's an excerpt:
The graphics are still crude, but the fact that they're using the Serious Sam engine indicates there'll be lots of improvements to come. The code we played with was pre-alpha and the multiplayer aspect isn't finished yet, but the rest of the game just needs tweaking. AI improvements, some tweaks to the level design, better graphics, and sound, should make the game a bargain at its proposed budget price. The design team has their work cut out for them, as the game is due in stores in sometime in mid-March. It's a great idea for a shooter, and nobody wants to see dinosaur games go extinct.
