It took many programmers and designer's months of hard work locked in a room of our studio. All the rest of us could do was slip pizza under the door every few days! We found there were a lot of challenges in offering such a significant addition to the game, not the least of which was striking the proper balance so that players who wanted to play infantry-only could enjoy it and be able to effectively combat other players who chose to use tanks, jeeps, etc.
