There are controller shortcuts to take the console player directly to the action. Many of the D-Pad shortcuts originally devised for BfMe 2 have been changed, so fewer clicks are required. The Y button takes you to wherever combat is happening (you'll see markers on the mini-map), and if there are multiple skirmishes happening, hitting Y will cycle through each map location where combat is taking place. The X button snaps to whatever unit you have currently selected, and if you click down on the thumbstick, you'll be taken directly to your base. EA is providing some exclusive features for the console version, and Xbox 360 players will also get several exclusive multiplayer modes, including Siege, Capture the Flag, Capture and Hold, and King of the Hill. Siege will be fun for players who like to make intricate bases-a wall of energy will be put up between opposing players for the first five minutes of gameplay, giving players the opportunity to fully concentrate on their respective base buildups. The game also supports use of the Xbox Live Vision camera in the multiplayer lobbies. While we didn't see the PC version on this day, we expect that, while PC players won't need many of the console controller features (since they'll have the trusty keyboard-and-mouse combo), many of the interesting UI features we saw should also be available. In addition, the PC version will ship with a full-featured content editor, opening up the world of player-created content.
