Epic games has released some lengthy new gameplay footage of its upcoming FPS, Bulletstorm, due Feb 22, 2011 for the Xbox 360, PC and PS3. Cliffy B, senior designer at Epic games, takes us through the incredible vistas, explaining key gameplay mechanics.

Looks decent from the vid. Problems I see are EA and the consoles. PC version will most likely be crippled as almost all games are. The only other tidbit of info that would help is MP. If MP is solid then I would be game. I'm not a fan of the DLC since they really skimp on the extras. Dragon Age and ME2 were both great games and the DLC's for both were way to light on content etc. The map packs and whatnot I've seen in DLC's for FPS games are also pretty light.

This could be so much better it just looks like any other fps shooter that has no real depth, other than blur shit, perhaps its just me but DOF/Blur in games is annoyingly stupid and way way overused nowadays.

..And "People Can Fly" made the Painkiller series of games, and I'll be honest that was a good blast on the PC for its time where the pacing of playing that game with the stake arrows (single shot) meant that skill was more important(and nothing beats using long distance projectile physics to get a kill and running away from swarms of mobs) , the levels were big and there was plenty of shit too kill as fast as you can.. and I can see some of gamestyle being used here.

Problem is it just looks like another GOW consolized game, its like Painkiller meet Serious Sam meet GOW (perhaps if it had met Bioshock and STALKER oh and Half life along the way etc) , the Right/Left trigger pressing rope crap, and over powered weapons, the fact the maps are actually small despite the environment being big, they are just scripted maps inside a large open environment that you can't actually get too. What is it with mini boss having such high hitpoints just so you can't rush past quickly even though its all just so unrealistic. And he stands directly behind a friggin ramp waiting only to kick it down when you go past, i mean that is just lame, the pacing through the level that cliffy took was too fast, where was the challenge? Certainly not with the AI, That itself says enough about the gameplay, certainly wouldn't be any challenege for me, maybe if the guns/ammo where better balanced for more skill like laying down trip mines and being a sneaky bastard allowing for different play styles not just run and gun easy explosive kills etc, and every enemy you go to kick is a hopeless idiot who can't seem to dodge a kick... of course that would totally suck for the anolog spray and pray stick noobs that are now their mass audience.

I don't see much happening the Multiplayer for this game, Epic have totally sucked in putting out a decent Mulitplayer FPS game for a while now. Even ID Software put out Quake wars in 2007 that had more FPS multilayer appeal on the PC than any of Epic's games since UT2k4 2004! because UT3 sucked major noob ass.

Game looks awesome, I'll buy it for sure. This game will most likely grab a lot that are still playing UT3.
