The chaps over at
GameSpy have posted a new preview of
Boiling Point: Road to
Hell, Deep-Shadows' upcoming first person action game formerly known as Xenus.
The game is slated for release in May 2005. Here's
a taster:
Rest assured, you'll have plenty of tools with which to do it. All manner of the usual weapons will be at your disposal, including handguns, rifles (of both the manual and automatic variety), submachine guns, grenades, even surface-to-air missiles. You'll have access to a bunch of vehicles, too: planes, choppers, tanks, and automobiles (no trains, though) will all be at your disposal to aid you in traversing Puerto Sombra's expansive landscape, and you'll have relevant skills pertaining to the piloting of each. There's a cool sort of synergy between weapons and vehicles, too, apart from the former being able to blow up the latter. Being a "realistic"-style game, Boiling Point limits the amount of gear you can carry, by means of an RPG-style inventory interface. But if you have access to a car, you can store all your surplus goods in its trunk! Just be careful with that SAM launcher, though, or your spare arsenal will end up blown to smithereens -- vehicles are very destructible.
