XenusHQ has posted an interview (originally published in Russian at
xenus.gtasoft) with unnamed member(s) of Deep-Shadows talking about
Boiling Point: Road to
Hell, the upcoming first person action game formerly known as Xenus. Here's
a taster:
Q: What can you tell us about the RPG elements in the game?
A: We have created a complete system of experience of the player based on
around 20 parameters/skills, dialogues with interesting and emotional responses,
an upgrade system and trade, in fact for the most part, mutual relations between
Saul and npc's are based on a principle: money for goods, money for service,
goods for service. For this reason, to promote the search for your daughter, it
is necessary to undertake seemingly insignificant tasks like helping a friendly
citizen or perhaps other not so honest ways of earning money.
But the most important aspect is that in Xenus the player can choose how they
want to solve the created problem. The way the player behaves renders very
important influence over the rest of the game and the frequency of complex
situations. It is possible to adopt a "kill 'em all" playing style and it's
possible to play patiently, waiting for new opportunities - everyone can choose
their own role.
