Graphically Blitzkrieg is looking excellent with 3D maps and detailed looking 2D units. While 3D is the big buzz word now among RTS games, the 2D units in this game allow Nival to have a ton of soldiers, tanks, planes and more moving around on the map at the same time with little to no slowdown in the framerate, which of course adds to the overall immersive experience. There are some nice animations in some of the vehicles (the tanks are very impressive looking in the game) and the graphics also show off a lot of destruction in the landscapes, with large holes in the ground created by bombs or tank fire and buildings and bridges that become ruined by all of the battles. The game also contains multiplayer options for up to eight players for LAN and Internet play via GameSpy support is also in Blitzkrieg. While not present in our preview build, the folks at Nival have promised that the game will have a mission editor and other mod tools, although it's unclear if these will ship with the game or be released for free afterwards.
