More than zombies, images of hapless cows being milked into scrawny husks and horse corpses undergoing cruel pummeling by bat-wielding game publishers also drifted through the author’s mind as he strolled through the first few areas of C:V’s PS2 port (it really is just a pot -marketing rhetoric aside). Like the recent Bond movies, C:VC gives you exactly what you expect in exactly the order you expect. Start with good FMV and bad dialog. Find big gun over there. Cue creepy music here. Shuffling zombies enter stage left. Hounds of Baskerville burst through windows yonder. Here’s the save point, right on time. Stretch. Cut. Loop. Repeat until very rich. Wait for ennui to set in. Not to say that CODE: Veronica Complete seems to be a terrible game at first glance. It simply seems to offer only more of the same to PS2 owning Biohazard fans. [more]
