BF4 - Next OpenBeta Patch Will Offer CPU Optimizations - briefly

Johan Andersson, Technical Director on Frostbite at DICE, revealed that the open beta build of Battlefield 4 will get a new patch that will come with some CPU optimizations. As Johan claimed, performance will be improved on Windows 7, however the "Win8 + DX11.1" will still be the better option for those who want to enjoy DICE's upcoming shooter. Spent last 24 hours fighting PC graphics driver thread contention & stalls in #BF4. Believe I've won this battle, but not yet the war

So expect some improvements in the next #BF4 OpenBeta patch. Though Win8 w/ our DX11.1 backend is definitely the fastest path (until Mantle)”

Windows 7 should work fine, please test after the OpenBeta has been updated
