The UK studio had originally stated it would only make the title if its Broken Sword Kickstarter reached $1m. But despite falling short and garnering $800k, still double the initial funding goal, Revolution co-founder Tony Warriner has told Develop that the huge success of its crowdfunding campaign has inspired it to begin work on Beneath a Steel Sky 2. Development of the title will begin after the release of Broken Sword. "We're delighted by the recent level of interest in a sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky and are currently discussing design ideas for this project which we plan to go into development following the release of Broken Sword - The Serpent's Curse. "We're deeply touched that our Steel Sky fans are as enthusiastic today as they were when the original game released in 1994." Beneath a Steel Sky 2 is to be developed for iOS, Android, PC, Linux, OSX whilst Revolution is also looking into the possibility of a console release.
