BBC readies multiple Doctor Who games - briefly
(hx) 07:08 PM CET - Jan,29 2010 - Post a comment / read (8)
BBC Worldwide today revealed that it's currently in talks over the development of some new Doctor Who game:
BC Worldwide has told MCV that talks are underway to turn Doctor Who into an array of new games.

Last week the broadcaster exclusively revealed via MCV that it plans to re-enter games – after killing off its BBC Multimedia division in 2005. As part of the move, a variety of licensing deals for key BBC IPs are in the offing, with the BBC finally releasing its grip on the coveted Doctor Who licence.

Until now, the BBC has held off making a game based on the popular TV show, only allowing Eidos to release Top Trumps: Doctor Who in 2008. But that’s set to change.

Amazing the corporate arm of the public funded broadcast organisation enjoys delving into commercial activities, especially on spin offs from flagship programmes.

Meanwhile these lucrative commercial BBC subsidiaries after years of brand development and marketing are now being cannibalised, by international media conglomerates. Ethics doesn't come into the picture only loads of money for the profiteering shareholders laughing all the way to the bank, that we bailed out :O .

Keep paying that ever increasing license fee muppets.

Muppets indeed, the BBC are fucking shit as are the majority of the shows they put out, I'd scrap them off the license fee, they don't deserve the sheep income, all they do is push through political propaganda and do a half ass journalism job. No wonder China still allows it :P

as for Dr Who, eeergh jeesh utter noob garbage.

The BBC has made some of my favourite docos! Especially BBC Horizon.

I seriously doubt any Doctor Who game will be worth playing though. History is a great teacher as far as TV show games go. Be nice to be proven wrong though, but I won't hold my breath. :)

Doctor Who is the best ever. The games might be worth checking out as long as they have David Tennant as the doctor, but I doubt it.

Doctor Who was such a lame show. Anyone who ever brought it up, even as a kid, was laughed at it was so bad. One of those shows you sit and get wasted and watch and laugh harder and harder. I remember the early ones, omg those were a hoot! How this show even ever made it to the television is a wonder. roflmao now some acid freak is going to make a game out of it? holy F, I wouldn't want my name associated to it.
