Audeze Mobius - The CRAZIEST Gaming Headset - tech
(hx) 10:21 PM CET - Mar,22 2019 - Post a comment / read (15)
The Audeze Mobius is supposed to be a gaming headset that will satisfy audiophiles with incredible planar magnetic drivers and 3D positional audio. It has literally every feature but it also costs $400. But if you have the money, this might be the best gaming headset available.

I doubt they ever tried a decent Sennheiser.

"audiophiles" and the specs don't go together at all. We can start with "gamer" then move on to "3D" and so on :D

Also, "3D" sound can be had much better than crap they put in 3D sound cans. If you have headphones (stereo) listen to this:

be amazed.

As an audiophile, i abhor 3D, "surround" or whatever they brand software driven spacial sound.
Its a surefire way to ruin good sound.

Hmmm. And I thought I was the only one.

If you don't use a 10.000$+ tube amplifier - you are not :D

Csimbi(11:29 PM CET - Mar,23 2019 )
I have an Asus Xonar Muses edition; that was 2500.
I did not want tubes because of the kids - this was the closest in terms of quality and performance at the time...

gx-x(12:06 AM CET - Mar,24 2019 )
tubes are crap, they color the sound and skew the actual recording. BUT, if you don't own tubes, audiophiles that do will mock you. Not to mention if you don't have some vintage crap speakers that also color the sound and cost over 5 grand. So, no, you are not an audiophile :D And be glad that you are not one. Being trapped in that mind set is a horror for your ears and mind.

pls recommend me good headphones!

wireless, music: mostly deathmetal :-D

I am an audiophile :-( It's really hard to find anything. I've had quite cheap Sennheiser for many years, but they are dead :(

I have a HD595 and HD600.
When Skyrim came out, I was blown about positional audio with the HD595 and the lows this headphone produced (without a pre-amp). No wear fatigue or sweating under the caps whatsoever. I could wear it 12 hours a day - loved it. At some point its frame cracked (my better half sat on it, lol) and it was not longer available so I bought the HD600 and the Asus Xonar Essence Muses Edition to drive it.
There is a HD599 available now:
https://en-us.sennheiser.com/headphones-high-end-stereo-hd-599
I guess it's the refresh of the HD595 - at least, it looks pretty much the same as my old HD595, and since this does not require a pre-amp, it will be a lot more affordable.
See if there are any reviews of it at https://www.head-fi.org/ and give it a go.

It's hard to recommend wireless HP to an audiophile. You are restricted with bitrate, assuming they are bluetooth. Basically, pick Senns with the newest possible BT standard you can get your hands on. Open or closed (cans) is a personal preference and totally up to you.

basically, head here: https://www.headfiaudio.com/ they do extensive test and post graphs of freq. responses (the flatter line, the better). There are some good AKGs and such, but haven't looked into headphones for some time, since I am content with what I have, and have been for years. :)

@Csimbi: He wants wireless HP set. The ones you listed are all excellent HPs but not what he is looking for. If I remember correctly, what he wants will be in 300$+ range.

edit: these seem to be one of the best you can get:
https://headphonereview.com/over-ear/sennheiser-hd-450-btnc-review/
(~160$)

https://en-us.sennheiser.com/wireless-headphones

There must be something you like there :D
These seem reasonable : https://www.whathifi.com/sennheiser/pxc-550-wireless/review

I will take a look. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Nothing is worse than spoiled ears 8)

If you want good wireless, look for Sennheisers with 'Kleer'.
Far better than the Bluetooth junk - no audio compression forth and back and hence, there is no lag.

The first one I had was the RS120. I was blown about how good it was.
You can also pair multiple headsets to the same base (this is how we watched the movies with the babies sleeping in the next room).

When I moved to Canada, the RS120's power supply was no good, so I gave it to a friend and bought the RS180 in Futureshop at the time.
It was much cooler looking but I think the RS120 sounded better.
Check out those series, there are new releases for each.

Looking at the RS120 today, the caps are different (your ears don't go inside of them).
It rating at 3.8 seems pretty low. I wonder why.

maybe because they lack a lot compared to newer models? Even higher RS models cost as much as HD1 or PXC and offer far less of everything.
If one is going wireless over-ear HPs, I don't think entry models are a good idea.

Csimbi(08:24 PM CET - Mar,26 2019 )
The RS180 was the top of the line when I bought, at 500 dollars.
And as I said, the RS120 was more comfy and sounded better, too.
So much about being top of the line.

gx-x(08:46 PM CET - Mar,26 2019 )
I was talking about RS120 that is their website. I don't doubt that they sound nice, all Senns do.
