Blue Monday has written a new preview of Arx Fatalis, based on playing a beta copy of the upcoming 3D RPG by Arkane Studios. Here is a slice:
Arx is a subterranean world, but it wasn’t always like this. The sun of that planet started to “fall into decline” and its inhabitants had to abandon the surface and rebuild their society under ground. The different races set their differences aside to work on the project, and five years later everything seems to going back to normal – or at least the kind of normality you could expect in a world that will never see the light of day again. Arx Fatalis starts with the return of a certain ancient evil, but I can’t really tell you much about it, since the main character starts the game locked in a cell, not remembering anything from his past.
