Games sent out
a press
release announcing
Army Ranger: Mogadishu, the upcoming first-person shooter for PC, where
players take part in the events leading up to the historic firefight that took
place in Mogadishu, Somolia on October 3, 1993. The game is currently in
development at Jarhead Games (Marine Sharpshooter I/II makers) and will be
available June 14, 2005 for a suggested retail price of $19.99 (USD).
Players take the role of the commander of a squad of Army Rangers, giving the soldiers orders to Go, Cease Fire, Hold Position and Engage. Game mission maps with waypoints help players complete the game objectives through the 10 single player missions. Gamers use authentic military vehicles, including HMMVVS and Blackhawks, and equip themselves with various combat weapons, including knives, M16s and M103 grenade launchers to complete mission objectives.
