In terms of the rest of the gameplay, Armies of Exigo is in very familiar territory but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Players battle in fantasy worlds with collecting resources like gold, wood, and gems. The races each have different ways to gain their food resource with humans making farms and beasts actually growing cows to eat (don't tell PETA). The Fallen have the more interesting gameplay mechanics. For one thing, a unit called the collector has to construct a structure that actually taints the land surrounding it so that the Fallen can construct the rest of its structures. All three races have both air and ground units with some upgrade available. The human race is certainly the most conventional with rangers, swordmen, pikemen and monks (the latter handy for healing and resurrection) and the beasts having some huge animal units like the manticore that can be devastating. The Fallen have the weird and spooky look in their units; even their resource gatherers can be used as effective warriors.
