The second level in the demo was a bit simpler in scope: defend a town against an army of Grunts with a turret weapon on top of a town wall in a forest setting. Sounds simple, right? It’s not. There seems to be hundreds of Grunts coming after you in a Braveheart like invasion force, which once again shows off the abilities of the graphics engine. You do have a machine gun and rocket launcher inside your turret so it is possible to accomplish this task but the Grunts, along with a massive wall smashing rock like creature, do make things hard for you.

Players assume the role of either a Black List or Global Risk mercenary, and then join an online team that must work together to complete objective-based scenarios. Cross Fire's flagship feature is its "Ghost Mode", which puts one team in possession of top-secret cloaking technology, rendering them invisible to the opposing team. This team of "ghosts" is armed only with knives, and must stealthily track and hunt the enemy team. This mode is exclusive to Cross Fire and no other mode exists quite like it in any other first-person shooter. (653 hits)
