HomeLAN - What kinds of enemies will Armed and Dangerous have? Aaron Loeb - Your primary foe in Armed & Dangerous is the evil King Forge, and he has a wide array of minions to send against you. His rank and file is made up of what we call Grunts, sort of half man, half animal soldiers that try to use their numbers against you. These are the enemies against whom you'll be able to achieve particularly spectacular results with some of your weapons, blowing up 15 or more at a time and watching them go hurtling through the air. But the King has some nastier fellows in his employ as well - for instance, the Captains, who are cunning men. They use marine-like battle strategy against you, employing covering fire, hurling grenades to support assaults, etc. And then there are the big guns - for instance, the 20-foot-tall Goliaths or the unbelievably lethal Q1-12s, which are the next model of eliminator droid after the Q1-11s (your buddy Q is a Q1-11 droid). Small arms fire bounces off the Q1-12s, so you have to use rocket launchers and some of the more powerful (and dangerous) special weapons against them - all while they're pummeling you with their enormous chain guns.

Players assume the role of either a Black List or Global Risk mercenary, and then join an online team that must work together to complete objective-based scenarios. Cross Fire's flagship feature is its "Ghost Mode", which puts one team in possession of top-secret cloaking technology, rendering them invisible to the opposing team. This team of "ghosts" is armed only with knives, and must stealthily track and hunt the enemy team. This mode is exclusive to Cross Fire and no other mode exists quite like it in any other first-person shooter. (653 hits)
