IGNPC: What does the gameplay involve? Is it a run and gun type of game? Is there puzzle solving or exploration? American McGee: The game plays out mostly on foot. There are a couple of on-rail driving/chase sequences. Outside of that, you'll find yourself running around, armed with various conventional and not-so-conventional weapons. Enemies come at you in the form of terrorists, zombies, and any other NPC you happen to piss off. There are lots of things to explode, catch on fire, and destroy. Missions are delivered to you via in-game cut scenes. Everything revolves around "escape", so you're always trying to find the next way out of the city. That's always the final goal for any level. Along the way, you have to (reluctantly) help people in distress in order to move forward, but this is where things get a little dodgy because our main character cares less about rescuing people and more about escaping. As a result, his attempts at rescue often result in someone's injury or death (always to humorous effect). There is a limited amount of puzzle-solving, and from time to time there are "team based" missions where you'll work with one of your support characters to overcome an obstacle. The emphasis is on seamless gameplay and ease of use, meaning that I recognize the fact that falling into a hole isn't really fun gameplay, so we limit your chances of dying in frustrating ways. My hope is that the game will reach a wider mass-market audience because of its accessibility and humor while still appealing to hard-core gamers on the basis of its raw fun-factor.
