HomeLAN has conducted an interview with American McGee as the famed game designer talks briefly about his new collaboration with Enlight Software. Here is a taster:

HomeLAN - What do you think personally on the current status of the video-PC game industry as a whole?

American McGee - I think it's in a semi-sad state. Publishers only seem interested in "safe bets", which is their prerogative, but I believe it means that consumers suffer under a pile of "me-too" and rushed to market film based games.

We don't pick our own names, "fred," I'm sure you of all people can respect that. And as for Smith, I'd agree that McGee probably isn't on the same level as Wright or Molyneux, but I wouldn't brush him off so lightly. He is definitely a name to be respected in the game industry, he's been around for a long, long time, and is responsible for some very unique titles.
