AMD Releases New Adrenalin Edition Driver for Windows 7 - tech

AMD has released a new version of its Adrenalin Edition driver, and it's an unusual one in that it targets Radeon users who are still using Windows 7, an older version of the operating system that red team's modern drivers no longer officially support. Adrenalin Edition 22.6.1 fixes a single issue on the older OS, whereby AMD Radeon Software may fail to install on some graphics cards that include the Radeon RX 6900 XT. There are also two known issues in the form of Enhanced Sync potentially causing black screens on some games and system configurations and Radeon performance metrics and logging features reporting extremely high and incorrect memory clock values. AMD's latest Adrenalin Edition driver for Windows 7 follows 22.5.2, which was released earlier this week with support for new games (e.g., Sniper Elite 5), DirectX 11 optimizations for Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics cards, and other improvements.

Fixed Issues
- AMD Radeon Software may fail to install on some AMD Graphics Products such as the Radeon RX 6900 XT.
Known Issues - Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.
- Radeon performance metrics and logging features may intermittently report extremely high and incorrect memory clock values.
