AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Beats GTX1080 - tech
(hx) 06:14 PM EDT - Jul,10 2017 - Post a comment / read (3)
DudeRandom84 has tested AMD’s Radeon Vega Frontier Edition in DOOM and compared it with both NVIDIA’s GTX1080 and GTX1080Ti graphics cards. And the results fall in line with what we are basically expecting from the gaming/consumer variant of the upcoming Vega GPU. AMD’s Radeon Vega Frontier Edition runs DOOM faster than the NVIDIA GTX1080, but noticeably slower than the GTX1080Ti. The performance difference between the GTX1080Ti and the AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition is around 23%, so in this particular title we might see the RX Vega coming close to NVIDIA’s flagship (that is if AMD will be able to offer a 20% faster performance).

barley, on Vulcan...barley. 1000$ card vs 600$ card atm.

Now what about the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 Ti AMP Extreme Core Edition 11GB which is right now the absolute top of the FPS list of all 1080Tis? For $1K CDN and still overclockable beyond its own clock, that is still easily a 4K monster and, perhaps, an 8K one too! :D Expensive, absolutely, but the raw power vs price is quite remarkable.

you can overclock every 1080Ti if cooling is decent... they all run the same chip, same VRAM...Only sheep pays for overclocked cards, unless they have much better cooling (if needed) compared to base model.

edit: Also, this is Vega against 1080, not 1080Ti. Ti destroys it.
