Gradually, as the story progresses, Alex Carver will be able to boost his abilities in two ways. The first one will be the implant nanotechnology, which is being developed by scientists from the dictator's laboratory. Because he also runs genetic experiments, in addition it will be possible to undergo body mutation by means of special machines.

Naturally, it'll be up to the players if they want to mutate Alex Carver, or insert some implants into his body. Each decision of this kind will have its consequences concerning the gameplay. Thanks to using these technologies the player will be able to check whether the game mechanics will steer towards a tactical shooter, or remain in the Soldier of Fortune's mode.
