HomeLAN has posted an interview with Ensemble Studios' Rob Fermier as he talks about Age of Mythology, their upcoming and long awaited 3D RTS game that's due out later this year from publisher Microsoft. Here is a taster:

HomeLAN - What other gameplay elements do you consider to be important and unique in Age of Mythology?
Rob Fermier - Age of Mythology really gives you a lot of important strategic choices. I think my favorite of all of these is the way you choose which of the minor gods will be part of your civilization as you advance through the Ages. You have to think hard about customizing your civilization to get specific god powers or myth units. It's really amazing the depth that it offers, and it takes many games before you've even seen all the options, much less mastered them. That kind of depth is really unprecedented in a RTS, even exceeding the depth of our previous games, but without burdening the player with a lot of needless complexity.
