German demo for
Tortuga:
Pirates of the New World (Piraten - Herrscher der Karibik), the upcoming
pirates versus buccaneers game. The demo offers the complete first scenerio
from the full game, but is entirely in German so be prepared for some

- Combat Mission 2: BBSE Ships - CDV Software has released
Combat Mission 2:
Barbarossa to Berlin Special Edition for the PC today. The special release
of this World War II tactical warfare game for the PC offers 160 scenarios,
300 vehicles, 600 types of infantry, seven different sides to play.
- Peter Gabriel to do Myst Soundtrack - Ubisoft has teamed up
with Peter Gabriel to add a distinctive sound to its Myst franchise of games.
Gabriel will provide the song, "Burn You Up, Burn You Down" for the November
release of Uru: Ages Beyond Myst and the world-renowned artist will also
provide an original composition for the next game in the series.
- Final Fantasy XI on October 28th - Square Enix U.S.A. announced
that
Final Fantasy XI will begin shipping to North American retailers on
October 28.
- Sony Says 90nm PS2 Chip Production to Start in Oct. - Sony said on
Wednesday it plans
to start mass production of a new chip to power the PlayStation 2 game
console this month, using cutting-edge 90-nanometer processing technology, in
a move that will lower manufacturing costs. "We expect to start mass
production of 'cell' in the second-half of 2005," Sony Computer
Entertainment's Chief Technology Officer said.
- Vivendi & NBC Form NBC Universal - General Electric and Vivendi
Universal announced today that
they have signed a definitive agreement for the merger of NBC and Vivendi
Universal Entertainment. The new company, to be called NBC Universal, will be
80%-owned by GE, with 20% held by the shareholders of Vivendi Universal
Entertainment.
- Strategy First to publish The I of the Dragon - Strategy First
today announced it will publish
"I of the
Dragon" (working title) by Primal Software, in the second quarter
2004.
