- Armed & Dangerous Preview - Games Domain has posted
a preview of The Armed & Dangerous, LucasArts' upcoming PC and Xbox action
shooter that's being developed by PlanetMoon Studios.
- Advent Rising Previews - Both
GameSpot and
PC.IGN
have posted a new previews of
Advent Rising, the
upcoming action game for the PC and Xbox. The game will be played in a
standard third-person mode and will likely offer a 16-by-9 mode. Specifics on
HDTV support and Xbox Live support, if any, are still being ironed out. The PC
game will have the option to play the entire game in first-person mode and to
run it at 800 by 600, and it will feature higher-resolution textures. Advent
Rising is currently slated to ship in spring 2004 for the Xbox, with the PC
version following later that year. Look for more on the game in the coming
months.
- Full Spectrum Warrior Preview (Xbox) - GameSpy has posted
a new preview of Full Spectrum Warrior, the upcoming Xbox military
tactical game from Pandemic and THQ that's being developed first as a training
program for the US Army.
- The Great Escape Shots - Those Nazis are up to their old tricks
once again and in The Great Escape you need to guide Steve McQueen to safety
as he breaks out of Stalag Luft III -- a POW camp run by the Third Reich.
GameSpy has posted
some new screenshots from the PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of the
game.
- Pure Pinball Demo - Iridon has released a playable demo of
Pure Pinball. The Pure
Pinballt
demo
is 70MB in file size and contains the Excessive Speed table. The demo is time
limited and contains a game manual in HTML format detailing the special table
modes.
- Counter-Strike 1.6B - Counter-Strike 1.6B has been released on
Steam. The changes include official bots, a new knife model, new sounds, and
much more.

- Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield multiplayer map - Ubi Soft has issued
another multiplayer map (1.9MB) for Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. This
Small Training level is a "very small map for fast games" in Survival and Team

- XIII movie - Ubisoft FTP has now offers another
new movie trailer for XIII, again showing the cel-shaded first-person
shooter by Ubi Soft Entertainment in motion.
- The Red Star Game Announced - Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. today
announced that it has signed an exclusive agreement with Archangel Studios
to develop video games based upon its award-winning, computer-generated comic
series, The Red Star. Currently under development with Acclaim Studios Austin
for the next-generation gaming systems, The Red Star takes place in a parallel
fantasy universe, in which a mythic empire based on the Soviet Union sets the
landscape for an epic battle of militarized sorcery and monolithic technology.
The Red Star will be available in 2004 across the next-generation systems at
suggested retail prices to be determined.
- Microsoft Train Simulator 2 Announced - Kuju Entertainment today
announced
Microsoft Train Simulator 2. The follow-up to the No. 1 best-selling train
simulation PC game, "Microsoft Train Simulator 2" provides the opportunity to
command a 200-ton modern diesel locomotive or operate a steam-breathing
behemoth from the past. Taking cues from the exacting standards of quality and
realism associated with the "Microsoft Flight Simulator" product family, the
latest edition in the "Microsoft Train Simulator" series takes the simulation
to new levels of realism and player immersion. "Microsoft Train Simulator 2"
will be available for PC in autumn 2003.
- GameCube Price-Drop In Canada - The Nintendo GameCube has a new
price in Canada! At $199.95 (Canadian funds, after a $30 drop in price), you
will be able to pick up a GameCube (Platinum, Jet Black, and Indigo) system
including a free Nintendo Preview disc, and one of four games (Metroid Prime,
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, StarFox Adventures or Mario Party 4). Also,
Nintendo will launch a national TV advertising campaign to promote the new

- Alien Flux Goes Live - PUPPY GAMES today announced that
Alien Flux, their
ground breaking web based arcade game, went live today.
- Seismovision v2.22 - Version 2.22 of the popular
Seismovision demo player (download)
has been released. Seismovision is a versatile demo player for Quake 1, Quake
2, Quake 3 Arena, Half-Life, Unreal Tournament, Star Trek Voyager Elite Force
and Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
- 112,000 Diablo II Accounts Deleted - According to
DiabloII.Net, Blizzard
has
deleted 112,000 Battle.net accounts for Diablo II. "Numerous additional
accounts were tied to the use of a hack or cheat program while playing Diablo
II on Battle.net. In keeping with our aggressive stance against cheating, we
have permanently closed over 112,000 of these accounts and documented the CD
keys with which they were used. Please note that repeat offenders risk having
their CD keys disabled, which would result in permanent removal from
Battle.net for their copies of Diablo II."
