- Sea Dogs 2 Preview - PC.IGN has posted
a new
preview of Sea Dogs 2, based on impressions from a recent build of the
game.
- Cult Interview - Gamersclick let us know they have posted
an interview with Peter Nagy and Jan Turan of 3DPeople as they talk about
their upcoming fantasy-RPG, Cult.
- Al Capone Revealed - HomeLAN has learned that game developer
Spellbound, who recently finished work on Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood,
is
working on a new tactical game with the working title of Al Capone. There
is no word on a release date yet.
- Grom German Demo -
The German demo of Grom is now available offering the opportunity to try
out this top-down 3D action role-playing game by Polish developers Rebelmind
The demo weighs massive 210MB and contains tutorials and the beginning of the
game up to the archaeologist camp. Mirror:

- Combat Mission 2: Barbarossa to Berlin patches v1.01 - CDV has
issued
a new patch for Combat Mission 2: Barbarossa to Berlin, bringing this 3D
turn-based war game by Big Time Software to version 1.01. The patch
includes many bugfixes as well as brand new vehicle models.
- Arx Fatalis retail patches v1.15 - Arkane Studios has released
new patches for Arx Fatalis, updating their first-person role-playing game
to version 1.15. The patch fixes some issues as well as adds a on-screen
mini-map option to the game
- C&C Renegade Patch & Server v1.035 -
Westwood's FTP has
a new version 1.035 patch for Command & Conquer Renegade, as well as a new
Win32 dedicated server. Mirror:

- Operation Flashpoint: Resistance & GotY Edition patches v1.90 -
This
release adds a number of new and tweaked features, as well as fixing
several dozen bugs. Bohemia Interactive has now also
issued a
small compatibility patch for Operation Flashpoint: Red Hammer, the Soviet
campaign that's included in the Gold Edition and Gold Upgrade for their
tactical shooter. Also available is the
dedicated Win32 server for the Resistance add-on, and finally there's a
1985 Campaign fix for the original game (although it must be patched to v1.90
which is only possible with the Resistance expansion).
- XIII pushed back to 2002/Q3 - Ubisoft sent out a news that
their neat looking cel-shaded first person shooter XIII, has been delayed.
This console/PC game was slated for first quarter 2003, but now the third
quarter of that year is looking more likely. The additional development time
will be used "to ensure that this game is as close to perfect as possible."
- Codemasters Signs World War II: RTS -
Codemasters has
secured the global publishing rights to "World War II: RTS" (development title
only) from 1C Company, the leading Russian game company renowned for the
acclaimed flight simulator, IL-2 Sturmovik. The title is now in full
development at 1C, with Codemasters consulting on game design; a release is
planned in the spring of 2004.
- Call of Cthulhu Site & Update - Headfirst opened the
official site
for their horror action adventure game Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the
Earth. Even though the first game has suffered massive delays and still isn't
out, a sequel is planned for 2004. Headfirst is still looking for a publisher.
- American McGee's Oz project -
The Carbon 6 website has
been updated with the first concrete details about American McGee's Oz
project, where there's word of a publishing deal with Infogrames, who plan to
bring the game to market for both the PC and Xbox in 2004. (thanks

- South Korea's Gaming Addicts - South Korea is one of the most wired

- Neverwinter Nights Collector Edition - BioWare sends along word
that they will release
a collectors edition of the game. This collectors ed will include the
game, the soundtrack, a mousepad, a t-shirt, a poster and an artbook. In
stores November 28, for $79.99.
- Splinter Cell IRC Chat Logs - One of the Splinter Cell developers,
evillair, was kind enough to
post news in BeyondUnreal's Splinter Cell Forum of IRC Chat Logs
with the producers of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. Topics range from the
development of the X-box title to the PC game and more.
- UT 2003 Bonus Map Taster - CliffyB was kind enough to share a
little
sneak peek of the first UT2003 Bonus Pack with everyone in this post. No
word on what the map's name is or for what gametype it will be. (thanks

- Xbox Live Starter Kits Virtually Sell Out - Microsoft
today announced that the Xbox Live service, the first comprehensive, online
game arena fully dedicated to fast-action broadband gaming experiences, has
sold 150,000 Xbox Live Starter Kits. Because each Xbox Live account allows
guest players, more than 200,000 players have already found their friends,
talked trash, and started building their legends in the last week. Xbox Live
is the first high-speed online console gaming service to reach these important
milestones in the first week of service, including the first
subscription-based broadband service to surpass 100,000 subscribers.
