Activision to shut Infinity Ward - analyst - briefly

Activision is likely to close Infinity Ward following the completion of the second Modern Warfare 2 map pack. That's according to Janco Partners analyst Mike Hickey, who predicts that Modern Warfare 3 development will be handled by two other studios. No big deal.
"Continued defections from their Infinity Ward studio have created meaningful uncertainty around the future of their Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise," he said in an investor note.

"We expect Infinity Ward studio will be essentially closed after their next map pack release, with development work on Modern Warfare 3 spread between two studios not historically tied to the franchise."
The maps are probably already on the disc anyway ;-)

Not supporting Activision at all on this, but... no, the maps are not on the disc. Weren't for the first pack, would make even less sense for the 2nd map pack.
