A striking demonstration at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) showed a person playing *Black Myth: Wukong* using only a brain-computer interface.

The system flashes visual targets at different frequencies on screen, causing the brain to produce unique EEG signals that a headset detects and converts into in-game controls.

According to staff at the event, the setup requires only about five minutes of calibration.

This non-invasive approach relies on Steady-State Visually Evoked Potentials (SSVEPs) to translate focused attention into precise commands.

The demo highlights how quickly brain-computer interfaces are advancing toward practical, hands-free human-computer interaction.

It also points to exciting future possibilities for accessibility and immersive gaming without traditional controllers.
