Xbox CEO Asha Sharma has been named an advisor to the U.S. Federal Reserve’s Productivity and Jobs task force. She will help assess how AI and new technologies affect employment and productivity in the economy.

The appointment was announced just days after Microsoft revealed plans to cut about 3,200 Xbox jobs. Sharma, who previously led Microsoft’s Core AI group, is one of three external experts on the panel. Critics online have pointed out the timing given the recent layoffs. Yes, that Asha Sharma. The Asha Sharma who, just three days ago, announced an Xbox "reset" that will see roughly 3,200 of her employees lose their jobs by the end of the 2027 fiscal year—a reorganization that remaining developers are reportedly convinced will cause irreparable damage to some of the company's most valuable brands.

Sharma will be one of three leaders heading up the Productivity and Jobs task force, which will "assess the economic impact of new general-purpose technologies, including artificial intelligence, to inform the Federal Reserve's policy judgments." She'll be joined by Stanford economics professor Charles I. Jones—"currently on leave at Anthropic"—and Marc Andreessen: tech VC, major AI investor, and guy who believes you can improve an LLM's results by simply instructing it to be very, very smart.

Seems layoffs are required at the U.S. Federal Reserve's Productivity and Jobs task force. Layoffs require spineless charismatic people who can be buried quickly if needed.

Singularity - PC, PS3, Xbox 360 - Raven have stated that Singularity's main gameplay mechanism is a device, known in the game as the TMD (Time Manipulation Device). The TMD has the ability to move a single object through time, both into the future, and into the past. It can also freeze an object in time, and has an 'Impulse' function, which can be used as a weapon once upgraded. The TMD is multifunctional, as it can be used as a powerful weapon, but also as a tool in puzzle solving scenarios. The device's use as a weapon is unconventional when compared to the weapons in other games. For instance, using the TMD's "rewind" function on a human opponent will send them into a "placental" state where they revert to an almost amoebic state, before slowly dying. The device is essential for solving puzzles, such as sending a lock forward in time, causing it to rust it in real time, or sending a broken bridge backwards in time until it returns to a usable state.
