An indie developer says over 55,000 players refunded his co-op rowing game Paddle Paddle Paddle after finishing it too fast. Many beat the game in under two hours and used Steam's refund policy, which allows returns within 14 days if playtime stays below that limit. The game still holds a "Very Positive" 90% review rating on Steam, with players often leaving good feedback even after refunding. Zoroarts called the situation unfair and urged Steam to update its rules for shorter titles. The developer noted the full game offers about four hours of content, yet speedrunners exploited the window.

Update: The 55,000 refunds refer to the game's total 21% refund rate, not players who beat it in under 2 hours, which the developer said affected only "dozens" of reviews
