The upcoming God of War spin-off game featuring Faye (Kratos’ wife) as the lead protagonist is facing major online backlash.

Fans are comparing the in-game character model to Deborah Ann Woll, the actress who provides voice and motion capture for Faye, claiming the game version looks significantly less attractive and older.

The controversy centers on accusations that developers deliberately altered the character’s appearance for “realism” or other reasons, despite having advanced technology to faithfully recreate the actress’s likeness.

The game, reportedly titled *God of War Laufey*, was recently revealed with gameplay footage showing Faye in an afterlife setting battling mythological foes.

Many players argue that the change feels unnecessary and echo similar design controversies seen in other recent AAA titles.

Sony Santa Monica has not yet addressed the criticism surrounding the character’s final design.

Alanah Pearce has confirmed that God of War: Laufey is the project she worked on during her time at Sony Santa Monica Studio.
