Android June 2026 Patch Fixes 78 Flaws - Critical Remote Privilege Escalation Patched - tech

Google has published the Android Security Bulletin for June 2026, fixing a total of 78 vulnerabilities across the Framework, System, Kernel, and partner components.

The most serious issue is a critical remote escalation of privilege vulnerability (CVE-2025-65018) in the Android Framework that allows attackers to gain higher privileges without any user interaction or special permissions.

Additional critical fixes address multiple local escalation-of-privilege and denial-of-service flaws in System components, plus high-severity Kernel and closed-source issues affecting Qualcomm, MediaTek, and other hardware partners.

No critical remote code execution vulnerabilities were disclosed this month, though the top flaw could still enable significant compromise on unpatched devices running Android 14–16.

Users should update to the 2026-06-05 security patch level (or later) for full protection; Google Play system updates for MediaProvider and Documents UI are also included for broader device coverage.

Manufacturers are rolling out the patches to supported smartphones and tablets in the coming weeks.
