A recent jailbreak demo has shown Motorstorm Pacific Rift running smoothly on a PS5 via the RPCS3 emulator under Linux, highlighting the console's powerful Zen 2 CPU and RDNA 2 GPU capabilities for PS3 emulation. This proof comes shortly after a Linux loader became available for older PS5 firmware, turning the system into an emulation powerhouse. Sony offers no native PS3 backward compatibility on PS5, pushing users toward cloud streaming on PlayStation Plus Premium instead. Similar tests in 2024 using PS5-like hardware already confirmed strong emulation potential.
