PSSR is not new, but now its improved version is coming, referred to as PSSR 2.0, which will be available as early as March. The first title to use this technology is Resident Evil Re:Verse (Recumming), which according to tests already delivers noticeably better image quality and at the same time should be less demanding on performance, which means better frame rates.

PSSR 2.0 is based on AMD FSR 4 technology, but it is not its direct implementation, but rather a modified and optimized version for the specifics of the PlayStation 5 Pro. In the future, this technology should be available not only in new games like Crimson Desert, but also in older games if developers make the necessary updates. It has already been confirmed that Remedy Entertainment's Control and Alan Wake 2, for example, will receive PSSR 2.0, which will bring improved visual quality even in performance mode at 60 frames per second.
