- Post a comment / read (1) Blizzard Entertainment has officially rebranded Overwatch 2 to simply Overwatch, dropping the "2" as the game enters a new era. The change accompanies the launch of "The Reign of Talon," a year-long narrative arc spanning Seasons 1 through 6 in 2026.
This marks the franchise's first fully connected annual storyline, centered on Talon's rise to global dominance and Overwatch's fightback, delivered through in-game events, hero trailers, animated comics, short stories, map updates, and more.A record 10 new heroes will join the roster throughout the year. Five launch immediately with Season 1 on February 10, 2026: Talon-aligned Domina (Tank), Emre (Damage), and Mizuki (Support), plus Overwatch-aligned Anran (Damage) and Jetpack Cat (Support).
The remaining five arrive one per season from Season 2 onward.Season 1 begins February 10, with Anran available early via Hero Trial from February 5–10.A native version of Overwatch for Nintendo Switch 2 arrives in Season 2 this spring.
