Be wary, it seems Cyberpunk 2077 players are suffering a recurring glitch that corrupts your save file. Going over a certain size can render a save unusable in the RPG game, and players have figured out what seems to be the cause. he issue was flagged on developer CD Projekt Red’s forums, where a number of users stated they’d lost progress due to files becoming corrupted while playing through Steam. Over the course of the posts, a common factor emerges that the saves that are being lost are all over 8mb, 8192kb being the exact magic number that can make your play-through unreadable. From there, discussion moves onto what’s actually making this happen, and it seems to be linked to crafting. Essentially, crafting weapons and items causes a bloat in your save file, and as of now, the open-world game has a ceiling on just how much of that it can handle.

This post on GOG.COM now officially confirms that Cyberpunk 2077 saved game files corrupted by growing too large cannot be fixed: Unfortunately the save is damaged and can't be recovered. Please use an older save file to continue playing and try to keep a lower amount of items and crafting materials. If you have used the item duplication glitch, please load a save file not affected by it. The save file size limit might be increased in one of the future patches, but the corrupted files will remain that way.

Good to see the public are ‘testing’ it for CDPR. Had to laugh at the quote from staff saying they were ‘working 6 day weeks’ or whatever it was, yet they still couldn’t get it right. As far as Covid goes, if they are working from home then this is going to be a nightmare to fix. Noticed on the TV last night, they are still showing adverts promoting it for Xbox, PS# and PC.

Mum and dad will have bought thousands along with console bundles for Xmas. Imagine the fun on Xmas morning :lol:

I guess people are finding out the downside of using the unlimited crafting exploits. Perhaps crafting 50k grenades in your inventory is not a good thing. :P
