EA is at it again. From Major Nelson comes word that EA is offering 11 items for Need For Speed: Carbon on XBox Live Marketplace that you could unlock by playing the game. Purchasing all of them costs 3,780 Microsoft Points, or about $50 of your Earth dollars. While the idea of downloadable content is neat, having these items come out at the same time as a game only leads us to think these items could have been included in the original title. Cheats used to be free. What next, charge for patches that fix bugs?!

it is possible but, oh dear lord, let's hope not. this is status quo in the corporate world with a lot of software vendors. don't have a support contract? sorry, no updates for you.

Whatever comments people had about Carbon, I can see it was because of an apparently lousy demo. Having bought it for my 4 year old son and watching him play it, lots has improved in the game. I wouldn't say it's leaps and bounds ahead of Most Wanted, but I find it plays better, not laggy at all for me and even the online play is quite good. I'd say more they 'opened' up the game a little more for customizations, movies are way better and yes the graphics are a lot improved since Most Wanted if you actually open your eyes. Does it compare to a Xbox 360 racing game? Well it's close.

One thing I'll tell ya that I found made the game look good and not overdone was remove the way over done blur...I have everything else on max and blur off. Looks very good.
