Mafia 3 - framerate lock patch - patch
(hx) 06:00 AM EDT - Oct,10 2016 - Post a comment / read (2)
Hangar 13 has released the first PC patch for Mafia 3 that removes its ridiculous framerate lock. PC gamers can now enjoy this open-world title with an unlocked framerate, something that will definitely please a lot of players. According to the development team, this patch includes 30, 60, and unlimited frames-per-second options, as well as improvements to keyboard remapping.

If you've not been following this minor controversy, Mafia 3 launched with a 30fps lock on PC, and there are probably dozens of frothing YouTube videos about that. The developers promised a patch that would allow 60fps play, and whadda ya know, that patch is here. You can now play Mafia 3 at 30fps, 60fps, or some crazy fps like 227 if you prefer, as there's also an "unlimited fps" option.

The fact that such a thing was not built into the game in the first place indicates that it's a pathetic console port.
The UTube videos posted (look for Mafia 1, 2 and 3 comparisons) confirm that it's a washed-down version of the game it should have been.
Another Take-Two Interactive fuckup.
In wonder if these guys are capable of making decent games...
No sale.
