Remember Treyarch's promises about an unlocked FOV for Black Ops 2 and unlimited FPS? Well, it seems that won't be the case as Treyarch's PC Community Manager has revealed via twitter that the max FOV will be 80 and there won't be any option to further raise it. According to PC Community Manager, Treyarch experienced technical issues and that's why they could not offer a higher FOV. (thanks RomeroFPS)

Guess the move to the DX11 renderer was not as ideal as they were hoping to, right? It's also ironic that Treyarch talks about technical limitations, as it's proven that a FOV change can be easily achieved even by third-party, fan made tools. Treyarch's Community Manager has also tweeted that there will be an FPS cap (probably of 120) on ranked dedicated server matches. This comes as a shock, as Treyarch had previously stated that the PC version would not be plagued by such a thing.

PC gamers told Treyarch's Community Manager that a cap of a 120fps cound introduce tearing to the game, who then said that gamers with an 120Hz monitor should "set vsync on and run at exactly 120Hz with no tearing". However, and as we all know, vsync introduces input lag. Treyarch's Community Manager responded to that issue: You have to choose what to QQ about. Input lag, server lag, tearing, or FPS, or you can make some reasonable concessions and solve some problems for everyone in the game

It's a good thing I was not going to buy it; I like mine 85. I guess you can scratch the game from being a benchmark, too. Oh, wait, any lame-ass hacker can patch the cap. Nah, I ain't buy it anyway.

Like most Developers..... Their success has gone to their heads and are now saying in so many words; "our way or the highway". Stick a fork in CoD anything they're all over-cooked! "Moving right along....."

And like always it will be hacked to shit like BF3 is now. Joy! I'm done with this game and even my son wont get me to buy it. Enough is enough and this latest BS seals my decision. FOV of 80, what a joke and a bad one at that.
