I think the word "Anticlimactic" defines my impression of this pretty well.
The trailer hinted at something good, but this?
Especially this toxic cloud crap sounds like a cheap trick to put less work into the environment and create "suspense" by introducing an ever present danger.
Which to me would be more like an ever present annoyance.

It's the one they said they won't bring to PC because of piracy. So the only reasonable translation there is they'd rather not spend the money on engine tech when they can spend it on console marketing instead. no?
