Skyrim Patched - briefly

- Post a comment As noted on the Steam Users' Forums, a new patch
is now available for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda's recently
released RPG sequel. It also encrypts TESV.EXE so you can no longer
enable the LAA flag (which many users found was the solution to
crashing issues and texture corruption problems). No idea why they did
that though because pirates are playing the unprotected game and can
use LAA, while honest customers are SOL. Only thing this changes is
that new patches have to be 'cracked' (unwrapped from steam, at
least)... so maybe that is the real reason. FYI, I found this on the official
boards. What you're essentially doing is making a symbolic link; the
New Vegas 4 gig enabler will launch what it thinks is New Vegas, but is
actually Skyrim. 72850 is the number Steam associates with Skyrim. As a
side note, I haven't tried this myself yet, so let me know if this
solution works for you.
