Steam 2010 Revenue Nearly $1 Billion - briefly

According to the analyst firm Forecasting and Analyzing Digital Entertainment, LLC, more ominously known as FADE, Valveâ€™s digital distribution platform, Steam, didnâ€™t do too shabby in 2010. In fact, Steam brought in a whopping $970 million USD last year; $213 million USD was in December alone. Judging by the CIA World Factbook, thatâ€™s higher than the gross domestic products of twenty-eight countries. FADE was even so kind as to put a list together of the top ten revenue drivers on the platform: 1. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision) - $98.2 Million USD
2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision) - $39.4 Million USD
3. Left 4 Dead 2 (Valve) - $36.0 Million USD
4. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Electronic Arts) - $25.4 Million USD
5. Sid Meierâ€™s Civilization V (2K Games) - $21.9 Million USD
6. Portal (Valve) - $20.0 Million USD
7. Fallout: New Vegas (Bethesda Softworks) - $17.0 Million USD
8. Metro 2033 (THQ) - $13.4 Million USD
9. Mafia II (2K Games) - $11.9 Million USD
10. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising (THQ) - $10.8 Million USD

My contribution during december was $247.

My contribution for the year was Â£232 ($374.55) which is way too much and scared the shit out of me actually especially when you consider I also have a 360 and a Wii and bought games for them as well. I would guess my annual spend went over Â£400 ($650) for all my systems, not including PC upgrades (keyboard,ram, disk drive and Hard drive).
