  • Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 64gb USB 3.0 Flash Drive Tested - For those who have machines with USB 3.0 interfaces and desire quick file transfers and read speeds then the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 is a terrific choice. • Dell 'Looking Glass' 7-inch Android tablet surfaces in video - As can be expected, the yet unnamed device will be running on a newer build of Google Android than the current 1.6 OS that powers the 5-inch Streak. The screen is bigger too, of course, but we’re hearing that the processor is getting bumped into the dual-core Tegra 2 variety. That should help to enhance the performance.
  • HP Slate gets demoed on video - A YouTube user has posted a lengthy video demo of a HP Slate device running Windows 7. Although the device boots in 30 seconds, compared to the iPad's 15 second boot time, it's clear from the start that Windows 7 isn't suitable for a slate style device. Windows 7 appears to be difficult to navigate using just your finger. The onscreen keyboard also takes approximately 60% of the screen space and does not push any content above it to make it user friendly.
  • RIM launches 7-inch 'PlayBook' tablet - Research in Motion (RIM) unveiled an 'enterprise-ready' 7-in. touchscreen BlackBerry Playbook tablet on Monday that features front and rear high-definition cameras, a dual-core 1 GHz processor and a new BlackBerry Tablet OS. The PlayBook, due out early next year in the U.S., is less than half an inch thick and weighs less than a pound.

The Satellite L635 Kids' PC features a 13.3-inch diagonal HD display, a built-in DVD drive and Webcam with software designed specially with a younger user in mind.
  • Adobe demos CSI-like photography with infinite depth of field - Adobe Systems Inc. demonstrated impressive new photography technologies during a recent Nvidia Tech Conference, that would allow users to refocus photos on their computers after the photo was originally snapped. The company used plenoptic lenses, which essentially are many lenses clustered together that are able to focus on different parts of a picture (including the ability to capture 3D images), the result is a mosaic like non-natural group of micro-pictures with an infinite depth of field.
  • Free Microsoft Security Essentials for Small Business - Microsoft will begin offering free MSE for business use next month.
  • Mozilla Seabird 2D (video) - Mozilla Labs unveiled a concept phone this week that piques the interest of many, but will probable never see production.
  • ElcomSoft WiFi cracking system for laptops released - Wireless packet sniffing can be done for various reasons, white hat or black. But we'll lean towards the noble C-level security officer within your organization who keeps things running tight and secure. And for that particular individual, Elcomsoft has released their Wireless Security Auditor WiFi software that can crack WAP/WPA2 PSK passwords, intercept data packets, and locate wireless networks all from a simple to use single interface. You'll need a laptop with AMD or Nvidia graphics cards, after that, you're on your way to securing the infrastructure, making sure no unauthorized relays are setup that could compromise your organizations network. The pro version runs for $1,199, with a standard at $399.
  • iPhone 4 Reception Problems Fixed - Well, thanks to Chuck Norris the problem has been solved!

  • Tron Legacy's Daft Punk Soundtrack Website Gets Viral Update - An odd email was sent out to readers last night alerting them that the website for Tron Legacy's Official Soundtrack by Daft Punk had been updated. The email contained a few bits of real info, but mostly chunks of garbled text which turned out to be real text encoded in Base 64 (decode it here).
  • Banned Smart ad sells using fear of back seats? - The ad was a huge hit in Germany, where it was originally slated to run during the trailers in movie theaters. It garnered such approval that it eventually made its way into television spots throughout Europe and has now ended up on Youtube as a 'banned' ad.
  • Nissan JUKE full TV ad (video) - The two-minute spot with a music track straight from a Halo ad injects some energy to the Juke mix, suggesting that it might have enough spark to get the city going and make your hair stand on end. Or at least enough to start up Richard Simmons.

  • Jay Leno test drives the Tesla Roadster 2.5 (video) - This is the most updated version of the Tesla Roaster and it represents quite a step up from the original Teslas. It's still a full-electric car with no need for a single drop of gasoline. The most recent stat, which will speak to some of the naysayers of full-electrics, is that it gets an EPA-certified 245 miles on a single charge. They've also swapped out from a two-speed transmission to a single-speed transmission. This is apparently more efficient. In the video below, Jay also learns about how air-conditioning affects fuel economy, how the liquid cooling system works, and so on. It's actually quite educational.
  • Jessica-Jane Clement is too hot for words - Jessica-Jane shows off her dangerous curves in the latest issue of Loaded magazine.
