Panzer General 3D: Assault is a historical turn-based strategy game and the first title of the series to include fully 3D graphics, which kind of made it look like an actual tabletop game. Overall, it was an improvement over Panzer General II - the best-known game of the series. The underlying mechanics remained mostly unchanged, which is a good thing, but unit balance has been tweaked to better represent their actual performance and 8 new campaigns were added. The biggest new feature is the introduction of unit commanders with special abilities. Overall, a great, enjoyable and absolutely addictive cult classic of a strategy game.
