As promised, Codemasters has released a playable demo of Colin McRae: DiRT 2, allowing you to try out the DirectX 11-powered Games for Windows LIVE edition of this racing game sequel. The demo enables gamers to compete in two of Colin McRae: DiRT 2's events. In the Trailblazer event, players take on the ultimate test of rally car against the challenging Moroccan terrain on a point-to-point track filled with flat-out straights and hair-raising hairpins in the Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. In the second event, gamers compete in a Landrush race at the spectacular Ensenada Port circuit set in Baja California, where players go wheel-to-wheel in an 8-vehicle riotous race over lethal bumps and killer jumps in the heavy duty West Coast Choppers Stuka TT.

The 1.32GB demo is available from AtomicGamer, CGO.ro, eXp Download, FanGaming, GH, SI, ShackNews. Also, there's a hotfix for the game running under ATI accelerators.

This is really amazing. Great graphics and sound, and runs great on my 8800GT (DX9 mode). Will be buying it for sure. I just wish there were more racing games I could say that about.

Agreed. Truelly awesome and has good gameplay too. Haha, now you're just bragging. :P Nice rig. I laughed so much when I was playing the demo and overtook some guy down the inside and he said, "Yo, you've got some style!". Racing and comedy, who'd have thought.

Racing and comedy, who'd have thought. Well PC people tend to brag a bit! :P There are also some "hey what are you doing" if you touch or smash another car. Cool game.
