Warning! The following story contains spoilers from the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. If you do not wish to know anything about the game, please stop reading.

A leaked video from France surfaced on the internet this morning showing what appears to be the opening single-player campaign mission for Modern Warfare 2. In it, the players apparently assume the role of a terrorist, and are seen entering an airport through an elevator with the rest of your squad members. The team enters near the baggage check area where about 20 civilians are standing before being gunned down ruthlessly by your squadmates. The rest of the level takes the team through the airport shooting civilians lying on the ground and running away in fear. The graphic depictions in this sequence are some of the most violent-looking and realistic scenes we've seen in a video game. This could cause controversy from the mainstream media for obvious reasons.

Update: Activision told VG247 this: The scene establishes the depth of evil and the cold bloodedness of a rogue Russian villain and his unit. By establishing that evil, it adds to the urgency of the player's mission to stop them.

Players have the option of skipping over the scene. At the beginning of the game, there are two 'checkpoints' where the player is advised that some people may find an upcoming segment disturbing. These checkpoints can't be disabled.

Modern Warfare 2 is a fantasy action game designed for intense, realistic game play that mirrors real life conflicts, much like epic, action movies. It is appropriately rated 18 for violent scenes, which means it is intended for those who are 18 and older.

I think that the game devs are really messed up with the whole Doomsday thing. I looked at some screenshots and it seems that they are going to nuke the White House. Its gonna be a bestseller outside USA, thats for sure.

Well that shouldn't be hard to get on the news,papers or tv. It's not exactly a big part of the game either and looks pretty much unnecessary -apart from just to shit stir and create controversy to sell the game,sadly. Some kids are easily pleased,and so to devs :roll:

So is it Stumpus, every talk is marketing. The more people hear about it, be it good or bad, the more it'll sell. The game will probably suck, otherwise they didn't need to spread all kind of fuzz.

Too bad it was spoiled, but it was bound to happen before release. Perhaps this was leaked on purpose to get people talking/interested?

Some people listen and read what they want, others ignore and wait until release. I think it's pretty obvious this COD release is unlike any prior releases. They've leaked enough to show that. At one time this wasn't even going to be considered a continuation of COD.

Its ironic how 'terrorists' just walked through airport security, yet everyone else was gunned down because they were queued up waiting for it.

I've heard one of the other missions has a usa patriot being tortured.

yeh cus you know patriot citizens are like terrorists aren't they eh and its an ok thing to do. I think its gone past the point where these games are promoting the wrong things. Already have a society filled with stupid people who are easily mislead, this is like political propaganda aimed to provoke and lead the minds of stupid people to the 'solution' to 'terrorists when really the need to wake up to what is really going on in the world.

I don't support this game one bit, and now its not just because its multiplayer will be shit.

How many times do you have to repeat that you aren't getting the game? We aren't retarded like you and like anyone gives a shit. You don't even fit in in the big picture. You're just another sack of wind with a big mouth. Do as you like ffs because I for one couldn't give a rats ass. It's a game loser and its not based on reality and they aren't condoning or advertising that people should do anything. It's a game not reality. You have to have some common sense, but I guess in your case that disappeared a long time ago. :roll:
