Remedy said in a statement in July 2009: "It is accurate that we are currently working exclusively on the Xbox360 version of Alan Wake. PC plans are currently open, and therefore it’s safe to say that at least a simultaneous launch with the Xbox version will not happen at this late stage. Remedy has a deep heritage in PC gaming and would love to see a PC version available to its PC followers, ultimately however this decision lies with our publisher." In this day and age of a finanical crisis a move like this is hardly understandable. With almost one billion computers around the world Microsoft is missing out on a huge basis of potential customers. The PC as a gaming platform might not be as popular as consoles in the United States but across the pond in Europe it is. We, authors of this petition and editors of the German Alan Wake fansite www.alan-wake.de, started a survey a while back, asking our visitors which version of Alan Wake they want to play. With 64,8 percent or 366 voters the PC version is clearly leading the Xbox 360 version with 29,6 percent or 167 voters. We therefore ask: 1. ... for a reason why Microsoft abruptly cancelled the work on a PC version of Alan Wake. 2. ...you to release a statement to express your point of view on the situation. 3. ...you to strongly consider a PC version of Alan Wake and releasing it simultaneously or with just a very little time gap in between. We, your most loyal fans of Alan Wake and Remedy, don't want Microsoft Game Studios history to repeat. Halo 1 was originally announced as a PC title, went to being an Xbox exclusive and finally came out more than a year later on PC. Not only did it far worse with critics because of a bad port, very few actually even cared about it anymore. Alan Wake deserves to have a different fate! It lies in your hands! Don't disappoint your customers around the world!
