- Lego Indiana Jones 2 announced - LucasArts announced that they are
prepping a sequel to 2008's family-oriented action game Lego Indiana
Jones. The sequel will once again be developed by Traveller's Tales
(masters of all things in Lego games) and is due out this fall for the
PC and many other platforms.
- The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest E3 Trailer
- Gametrailers has the first look at
Aragorn's Quest, the family-friendly Lord of the Rings action game
coming from Warner Bros. Interactive. The title marks the first game of
Warner's since it acquired the literary and film rights to Lord of the
Rings. Aragorn's Quest is looking at a fall release on Wii, Nintendo
DS, PlayStation 2 and PSP.
- BioShock 2 in October - The Cult of Rapture has word that
October 30 is the international release date for BioShock 2 on all
platforms: "Are you ready to start counting down the days until
BioShock 2 hits store shelves? You can start now! BioShock 2 will be
arriving on October 30th internationally and November 3rd in North
America for the Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 system, and PC."
- Dragon Age: Origins in October - This E3 trailer for
Dragon Age: Origins, offering a cinematic look at the RPG in the works
at BioWare. Though it doesn't include any gameplay, the clip does
conclude with an October 20 release date for the game that's been
described as a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate.
- Champions Online 360 this year; Star Trek MMO in
2010 - Champions Online, the new superhero-based MMO from
Cryptic, the guys who made City of Heroes is set to release on the PC
in September. Atari's fiscal year earnings report states
CO will release on the 360 in 2009 sometime between October and
December! Atari also had positive words to share regarding Cryptic's
other in development MMO, Star Trek Online, noting that the title is
"expected to benefit from the success of the newest Star Trek film".
The game's expected before April 2010.
- Tiger Woods Online - Electronic Arts
Makes Big Play for Online Services on WSJ.com reveals plans for a
web-based version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online. Producer Mike Taramykin saying: "Whether
you have ten minutes on your PC in the office, or hours on your Mac at
home, this is a golf game that makes time for you."
- Team Fortress 2 Patched - Steam News
announces the automatic availability of a
new patch for Team Fortress 2. The latest update to Team
Fortress 2 has re-enabled achievements as a method of unlocking the new
Sniper and Spy unlockable items, a clear response to fan complaints of
the new randomized system.
- Europa Universalis: Rome GOLD Announced -
Paradox Interactive announces Europa Universalis: Rome GOLD, which
bundles Europa Universalis: Rome with its Vae Victis expansion for a
double-dose of historical strategy gaming. The GOLD bundle is due in
July.
- Freedom Force Now Available On Steam -
Irrational Games' classic squad-based tactical RPG, Freedom Force, and
its follow up, Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich, are
now available on Steam. They are currently on sale at 10%
off. You can purchase them individually at $4.49 each or grab them both
in the Freedom Force: Freedom Pack for $6.74. For FREEDOM!!!...do you

- The Sims 3 Racks Up Over 180,000 Downloads Prior
To Release - Bloomberg reports that pirated
versions of EA's The Sims 3 were downloaded over 180,000 times between
May 18 and May 21. The game will not be officially released until June
2nd, and it does not make use of SecuROM for DRM.
- EGM re-launch? - Steve
Harris, founder of 'Electronic Gaming Monthly' magazine, announced that he has
entered into an agreement with Ziff Davis Media to re-acquire certain
assets, including trademarks and publishing rights, with plans to
re-launch EGM in the second half of 2009.
- Xbox 360 Hits 30 Million Sales Globally -
Microsoft announced that the sales
of Xbox360 consoles has reached the 30 million mark. The Xbox Live
member list has reached the 20 million mark. 2008 has apparently been
the biggest year for the Xbox in history, achieving the biggest
percentage growth in its lifetime.
- Dead Space: Extraction E3 09: Trailer (Wii) - The Dead Space: Extraction reign
of terror begins September 29th, 2009 only on Nintendo Wii.
- SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 Announces 4 Player Co-Op
(PSP) - The official Playstation Blog has posted some info that the upcoming
PSP game, SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3, will feature four player co-op gaming.
- Resistance 2 Pre-order Skins Now Free for
Everybody - Two multiplayer skins that used to be exclusive
to Resistance 2 pre-order players are now free for everyone who owns the
game
- Wolfenstein 3D Arrives on PSN and Live Arcade Next
Week - The console release of Wolfenstein 3D
arrives next week with some interesting bonuses in store for gamers.
The original game is included, complete with 60 levels of Nazi killing
mayhem. In addition, playing through the game will unlock gold and
accolades that can be spent on weapon upgrades in the new Wolfenstein
title coming out soon. With the new title arriving on August 4, this
gives players two full months to earn as much gold as possible to beef
up their weapons. Wolfenstein 3D hits the PlayStation Network and Xbox
Live Arcade on June 4.
